Industry: Telecom

Initiative: M&A Carve-Out and Integration

Challenge

Following the carve-out and sale of a major mobile service business to a new carrier, the acquiring organization needed a robust, rapid, and comprehensive strategy to integrate the acquired business into its existing operational framework. The core challenge was managing the transition of systems, contracts, infrastructure, and human capital across multiple parties without disrupting commercial momentum.

Project

Engaged in the 2-year, multi-phase integration program across the U.S. The scope involved managing the full transition of capabilities, including:

1) Assessment: Defining capabilities required for the transition.

2) Creation: Integrating core operational functions (ERP and Inventory Management), aligning Supply Chain Operations headcount and resources, and transitioning outsourced provider contracts.

3) Go-Live & 100-Day Operations: Overseeing the launch and stabilizing operations. This effort included integrating complex commercial programs (Trade-in/Buyback, repair/refurbishment, device insurance) and establishing omnichannel distribution across the U.S., including big-box retailers and small distributors. A key challenge was the alignment and management of multiple stakeholder parties.

Outcome

Successfully integrated the acquired prepaid business and its supporting infrastructure into the acquiring carrier’s organization. This effort delivered a unified, high-functioning operational model, ensuring business continuity while rapidly bringing complex commercial and distribution programs under the new entity’s control. The team successfully managed the initial 100 days of operation, achieving stability post-go-live.
